Verona, media città “provinciale” del nord-est Italia,
grandi potenzialità artistiche, basso sfruttamento di un substrato,
musicalmente parlando, assai fertile…Succede che un giorno la
città e i sui giovani riscoprono la qualità del Sound
da Club e con tale rinascita emerge un nome che, in questa piccola ma
importante realtà, si sta elevando tanto da spingere alcuni locali
ad accaparrarsi il suo groove accattivante.
Alex Mastini DJ: Detroit Techno, Electro, Break Beat, Dub, per creare
sempre Dj set eclettici, alternativi unici e di qualità; musica
che ha origini dal passato, ma sempre in evoluzione e rivolta al futuro.
In ogni serata crea un concerto diverso, mettendo le mani su tre giradischi,
un campionatore, una macchina degli effetti e la storica Roland 303.
Il suo viaggio musicale va dal jazz e soul di Herbie Hancok e Marvin
Gaye , ai suoni deep di Moodymann e Theo Parrish, Blaze, Osunlade e
Masters At Work.
Dalla techno di Derrick May e Juan Atkins e la new wave di Cabaret Voltaire,
all’elettronica d’avanguardia di Carl Craig, Playgroup e
Metro Area.
Alex, è un giovane trentenne, artista eclettico, DJ portato all’innovazione
grazie all’elevata cultura musicale sviluppata in un decennio
di sperimentazioni musicali in locali di altissimo livello, grazie a
numerose collaborazioni con discoteche, club e radio.
Nel 2000 lo staff del club La Pergola di Milano lo contatta per partecipare
alla Selezione Italiana per la Music Academy di Red Bull a New York.
Per quattro anni collabora con il progetto musicale Homegroove di Red
Bull, che lo ha portato a suonare in numerose consolle del centro-nord
Italia come Bolzano, Genova, Firenze, Torino, Bologna, Vicenza, Verona,
Ancona e altre ancora.
Le esperienze da free lance nelle location italiane all’avanguardia
per ciò che riguarda la musica da Club, Magazzini Generali (Mi)
per il tour Italiano Philips; Tenax (Fi); La Pergola (Mi); Mazoom e
Le Plaisir (Bs); Alter Ego (Vr); Black Hole (Mi); Borsa Club (Mn); International
Short Film Festival (Ve); Empirica Festival 2004 (Vr); Beatbox (Mi);
Street Rave Parade 2005 (Bo); Musica D’Alta Quota Festival (Capo
d’Orlando-Me); VRBAN 2006-2007 (Vr) hanno fatto si che il dj in
questione sia sempre più richiesto nella realtà italiana
e non solo, Bratislava, Londra (Ghetto Club), Ibiza.
Dal 2003 al 2005 resident in consolle al Sidos (Vr), Our Fucking Party
(Vr). Suona regolarmente accanto a dj di fama nazionale ed internazionale
come: Tiga, Cassius, Headman, Robert Owens, Amon Tobin, Dj Spooky, Alexander
Robotnik, Darren Price, Lee Burrigge, Jon Sa Trinxa, Tasty Tim, Princess
Julia, Pepo Lanzoni, Leo Mas, Steve Mantovani, Walter S, Ricky Montanari,
Lorenzo Lsp, Alex Neri.
Nel 2005 iniziano i suoi lavori in studio di registrazione con il progetto
Perfect Mistake, le prime produzioni e fonda l'etichetta discografica
Milk Plus, presente in vinile e su tutti i maggiori shop mp3.
Ogni settimana NEL DUBBIO…TECHNO!,
programma trasmesso in tutto il mondo via internet da DFR Radio (Brno
e Praga - Repubblica Ceca).
Ha gestito rubriche nei
mensili Ultratomato e Makesomenoise.
Dopo aver gestito il Select records shop per 4 anni ora collabora con
uno dei negozi del settore più importanti d’Italia, Le
Disque Records Shop di Verona.
Dal 2007 co-fondatore dell’Ass. Culturale Just
Married, con la quale organizza eventi che in pochi mesi sono diventati
un punto di riferimento per la promozione di musica e arte a Verona.

Finally the night crowd in Verona have rediscovered
the quality of good club sounds. At the heart of this rebirth one
name stands out from the crowd, playing his music in bars and clubs:
Alex Mastini. Detroit Techno with influences from Electro, Break Beat,
Dub, in order to create an “eclectic”, alternative, unique
and high quality dj set. His music has firm roots in the past but
is always evolving, looking to the future.In every night he creates
a different concert putting his hands on three turntables, an effect
machine, a loop machine and the historic Roland 303.
His musical influences ranging from Herbie Hancock’s & Marvin
Gaye’s jazz and soul, to the deep sounds of Moodymann, Theo
Parrish, Blaze, Osunlade & Masters At Work. From the techno sounds
of producers such as Derrick May & Juan Atkins and the new vawe
of Cabaret Voltaire, to the avant-garde electronic sounds of Carl
Craig, Playgroup and Metro Area.
Alex,30, is an eclectic DJ who likes to experiment and innovate thanks
to his vast musical knowledge and 10 years of experience, working
in clubs and radios.
In 2000, staff at La Pergola club in Milan asked him to take part
in the Italian audition for the Red Bull Music Academy in New York.
For four years he has collaborated with Red Bull’s Italian project,
Homegroove, he has started playing in various cities all over Italy,
such as Bolzano, Genova, Firenze, Torino, Bologna, Vicenza, Verona,
Ancona and many others.
Amongst the venues he played at, he can count Magazzini Generali (Mi)
for Philips’ Italian tour; Tenax (Fi); La Pergola (Mi); Mazoom
and Le Plaisir (Bs); Alter Ego (Vr); Black Hole (Mi); Borsa Club (Mn);
International Short Film Festival (Ve), Empirica Festival 2004 (Vr),

(Bs). Playing at these venues shows Mastini is getting more and more
sought after, around and outside Italy, Bratislava, Londra (Ghetto
Club), Ibiza.

the first productions and opened the label Milk Plus out now on vinyl
and on mp3 files in the most important worldwide websites.

by DFR Radio (Brno e Praga - Repubblica Ceca) on internet.
After 4 years of manage Select record shop now he’s currently
collaborating with one of the most important record shops in Italy,
Le Disque in Verona.
He wrote some monthly column for Ultratomato
and Makesomenoise.
From 2007 charter member of Just
Married Cultural Affiliation, to organize events became very important
to promote art and music in Verona.
